LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - The latest U.S. Drought Monitor map shows little change in the drought conditions throughout Arkansas.
It's the first time in weeks that the map hasn't shown worsening conditions for the state. The map, released Thursday, says 53.6 percent of Arkansas is in exceptional drought - the worst possible category.
Last week, 53.2 percent of Arkansas was in exceptional drought.
According to the map, 100 percent of Arkansas is in some form of drought - with the vast majority of the state in exceptional or extreme drought.
The drought analysis factors in the rain that much of Arkansas received early in the week.
