SPRINGDALE, Ark. (AP) - Authorities in Springdale say they've arrested two people after seizing more than $160,000 worth of methamphetamine from a hotel room.
Police were called to the Extended Stay America on Sunday after a maintenance worker investigating a fire alarm discovered the drugs.
Springdale police Lt. Kevin Lewis says officers seized three pounds of methamphetamine - which has a street value of more than $160,000. Lewis tells Fayetteville television station KHOG (http://is.gd/fxujCs) that authorities also seized more than $35,000 in cash and three handguns.
Lewis says two men were arrested on drug charges and authorities expect to make additional arrests.
Lewis says authorities don't believe the men were manufacturing the drug in the hotel room.
