5 things to do in Arkansas this weekend

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (August 24, 2012) - Today's THV is always looking for ways to make you and your family's lives easier. So, we've put together a list of five free or inexpensive things to do this weekend in Arkansas.

#1. Back to School Splash: Kick off the weekend Friday at the Splash Zone in Jacksonville from 7:30 - 9:30 p.m. Kids ages 11-15 are invited to slip, slide & dive. Admission is $2 at the door and $1 more for slides.

#2. Komen Race for the Cure Kick-Off Party: The fun happens Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Promenade at Chenal. Children can have their faces painted and grab a balloon.

#3. Rollin' on the River: Saturday at 7:15 a.m. get ready for Big Wheels keep on turnin'! It's the Rollin' on the River 5K Race and 2K Family Fun Walk, hosted by Easter Seals Arkansas at the Clinton Presidential Center. So get out the bikes, strollers, and wagons! Prizes will be awarded to impressively decorated sets of wheels.

#4. Arkansas county fairs:  There several fairs happening around Arkansas this weekend. Ashley, Newton and Sebastian counties are all wrapping up their fairs. They last through Saturday. There are games, rides, food, and of course great entertainment!

#5. Rhea Lana Consignment Event: Parents get ready to save hundreds of dollars on your child's wardrobe! Rhea Lana's consignment event kicks off Sunday in Conway at the Expo Center. Thousands of people are expect to attend the nearly week long event. You can find everything from name brand clothes to toys, and baby furniture.
