BRYANT, Ark. (KTHV) - A Bryant woman is in custody for prescription fraud charges.

Toni McKeever, 42, is charged with 33 counts of obtaining drugs through fraud and 26 counts of second degree forgery. More charges are pending. She was arrested by a joint task force between Benton and Bryant authorities.

The investigation began in June, when police searched McKeever's home and found several empty prescription bottles they say she got through forgery. Police also found forged police reports she was using to get new prescriptions for narcotics.

Police say this is a unique way for someone to fraudulently get prescription drugs and this shows the great lengths suspects will go to get them. Police say they have also noticed a rise in residential burglaries where prescription drugs were the primary item taken.

Authorities say these are the reasons why the next prescription take-back event is so important for the residents in their areas. They also want to help educate people about the dangers associated with their abuse and misuse, and proper storage and disposal.

The next prescription take back is being held on Sept. 29th from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the following locations in Saline County:

• Ferguson's Furniture on Military Road in Benton
• Saline Memorial Hospital near the main entrance
• Hot Springs Village at the East Gate
• Harvest Foods on Arch Street in East End
• Haskell City Hall/Police Department
• Alexander Police Department
