HOT SPRINGS, Ark. (AP) - Authorities say a man was shot and killed Monday afternoon after an argument at a Hot Springs tavern.
Lt. James Martin of the Garland County Sheriff's Department says 58-year-old Alan Edwards is charged with first-degree murder and criminal attempt at first-degree murder.
Martin says Edwards got in an argument with 46-year-old James Fowlks at the Pop A Top Tavern, left the business, then returned with a gun and shot Fowlks. Fowlks died at the scene.
Authorities say that after the shooting, Edwards was injured when bar patrons subdued him.
Edwards was taken to a local hospital and is being guarded by deputies. His condition is unknown.
