Nathan Ray is charged with hitting a motorcyclist in Sept. on I-40 near Levy and leaving the scene.
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - We're beginning to learn more about a North Little Rock man accused in a hit-and-run that happened over the weekend.
Nathan Ray allegedly hit a motorcyclist early Monday morning on I-40 near Levy and left the scene. The victim, police say, laid alongside the interstate for hours before someone found him. (http://on.kthv.com/OU7iz6)
He is still in a coma.
Bill Sadler with the ASP says when Ray allegedly left the scene of the crash, he dragged the motorcycle along with it until it was freed from the car at the JFK exit.
We've learned today that this isn't Ray's first run-in with the law. In fact, North Little Rock police tell us he's awaiting trial for drunk driving.
Ray was arrested July 24 after he crashed a car. Reports show that his speech was slurred and he was unsteady on his feet.
Ray's new charges include aggravated assault and leaving the scene of an accident. Arkansas State Police tell Today's THV more charges could be filed.
Authorities are awaiting toxicology test results to find out if Ray was drinking before Monday's accident.
