FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (KTHV) - Arkansas had a tough task hosting No. 1 Alabama at Razorback Stadium Saturday night in Fayetteville grabbing a 52-0 win.
The Crimson Tide responded to a miscue on Arkansas' special teams early in the first quarter. A high snap on the punt gave the Tide the ball. On Alabama's first possession, Eddie Lacy ran it in for a touchdown putting the Tide on the board first.
Eddie Lacy finished the game with three touchdowns for the Crimson Tide. He finished the game with 55 yards rushing and those three touchdowns.
AJ McCarron was 11-of-16 passing for 189 yards and a touchdown.
As for Alabama's defense, Vinnie Sunseri and Haha Clinton-Dix intercepted quarterback Brandon Allen. Allen filled in at quarterback for the Razorbacks as Tyler Wilson sat out the game due to a head injury in last week's loss to Louisiana-Monroe.
Arkansas had just 44 yards of total offense at halftime and 137 for the game. Brandon Allen finished with 60 yards passing and Brandon Mitchell, who took a few snaps at QB, finished with 19 yards passing.
The shutout was the second straight for the Crimson Tide. The last time Alabama, which has now forced 11 turnovers this season, had back-to-back shutouts was against Vanderbilt and Kentucky in 1980.
The Razorbacks were held scoreless in Razorback Stadium for the first time since a 7-0 loss to Baylor in 1966
