Update: Antwan Fowler of Conway convicted of 1st degree murder in death of Stevie Thomas

CONWAY, Ark. (KTHV) -- Faulkner County Prosecutor Cody Hiland says Antwan Fowler was convicted of first degree murder late Thursday afternoon in the death of Stevie Thomas.

Police say Fowler and Thomas got into a shootout back in June 2011. Thomas' brother Kenneth reportedly tried to drive him to the hospital, but had a wreck on the way.

The incident left Stevie Thomas dead and his brother Kenneth in the hospital.

Today's THV has learned the jury is deliberating sentencing at this time. Hiland says Fowler could face 10-40 years or life in prison.

According to Hiland, Fowler has been sentenced to 75 years for first degree murder and 18 years for firearm possession.
