Communities come together for National Night Out

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (October 2, 2012) - Little Rock residents are encourage to celebrate National Night Out tonight, October 2,  with a variety of neighborhood events.

National Night Out is a year-long community building campaign, designed to: (1) Heighten crime prevention awareness; (2) Generate support for, and participation in, local anti-crime programs; (3) Strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships; and (4) Send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.

There will be block parties, cookouts, flashlight walks, festivals, visits from local officials and law enforcement, safety fairs and youth events.

There are sixteen Night Out events signed up with the Little Rock Police Department:
