LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (Oct. 2, 2012) - The Regional Recycling and Waste Reduction District annual Fall electronics collection will take place on Wednesday, October 3 and Thursday, October 4 from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. each day at the VIP parking lot at Verizon Arena in North Little Rock, AR.
This event is free to businesses, individual households, non-profits, churches, hospitals, and schools in Pulaski County.
Items accepted are batteries, computers, monitors, printers, copiers, VCR/DVD players, televisions, microwaves, telephones, stereos, radios, paper shredders, and fax machines. Other electronic items will not be accepted.
Participants with large quantities (over 5 items) should bring materials palletized, in Gaylord boxes, or at least two (2) people to help with the unloading.
The District will not accept electronics from a business that accepts electronics for a profit. All of our drop off centers and collections are free and we cannot pay recycling costs for businesses that charge the public.
No materials may leave the site once dropped off. All of the electronics collected through the District's events are properly disposed of and securely handled. No materials are given away or sold and all hard drives are destroyed.
All participants, except individual households, will be required to present a statement on letterhead indicating company/group name and the amount of electronics delivered or fill out an information statement at the collection site.
The Spring electronics collection this year brought in over 387 tons of material.
Beginning November 1, businesses will be able to take electronic waste (e-waste) directly to L&W Environmental at 9611 Ironton Road or Goodwill Industries at 7400 Scott Hamilton Drive, both in Little Rock. They are open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
