JORDAN, Ark. (KTHV) - A man is under arrest for theft in Baxter County.

Mason Michael Seay, 25 of Jordan, was arrested Monday on charges of residential burglary and theft of property.

The victims told the Baxter County Sheriff's Office that they came home around 12:30 p.m. Sept. 30 and heard someone run down the stairs. The homeowner ran outside and caught Seay as he ran out. Seay knows the homeowners and gave an excuse why he was in their home. The homeowners let him leave without calling police.

After Seay left, the homeowners discovered 16 one dollar coins were missing as well as a diamond ring valued at $2,000. On Oct. 1 Seay contacted the homeowners and admitted to stealing the coins and ring and said he would give them back.

The homeowners called the sheriff's department so they could be there when Seay returned their property. When Seay arrived he was arrested without incident. Seay was also a suspect in the shoplifting of a cell phone in Salesville and Seay admitted that he was involved in that as well.

Seay is currently charged with felony residential burglary, two felony counts of theft of property and misdemeanor theft of property. He's being held on $25,000 bond.
