LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - The Arkansas Supreme Court has suspended a southeast Arkansas judge who agreed to the sanction for getting into a fight with his wife's boyfriend at a Wal-Mart in Crossett.
Justices on Thursday accepted the Sept. 7 agreement between Circuit Judge Sam Pope and the Judicial Discipline and Disability Commission which recommends the judge's suspension.
The agreement calls for Pope to be suspended for 30 days, receive anger management counseling and write an apology letter.
Pope was involved in the April 5 altercation that was captured by the store's security video. Crossett police responding to a 911 call about the fight led both men away in handcuffs.
No charges were filed when both men agreed not to ask that the other be prosecuted.
