LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (Oct. 6, 2012) - The 2nd annual Main Street Food Truck Festival will take over downtown Little Rock today, October 6 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Admission is free.
Over 30 food trucks will be lined up on Main Street, from Third to Ninth streets, along with vendors selling arts and crafts.
"We stretched the coverage on Main Street three more blocks and we've added double the amount of trucks which hopefully should cut down on the lines," says Mike Juiliano, better known as Hot Dog Mike.
There will also be a family area sponsored by Heifer International and the Arkansas Repertory Theatre will be hosting two beer gardens. There will also be numerous local music artists on site.
Free parking will be available in the parking deck upper levels at 6th and Scott and at on street parking spaces around the festival. The blocks running east and west through Scott to Louisiana will be closed to traffic and parking, as well as the alleys.
The Downtown Little Rock Partnership and the Main Street Food Truck Festival began the event to help bring people back to Main Street. Last year there were 17 food truck vendors and more than 5,000 people came to support the festival and enjoy the savory excitement. The event sold over $25,000 in food and beverage.
