SEARCY, Ark. (AP) - Searcy police say a woman riding in a motorized wheelchair on a city street was fatally struck by an SUV.
Police say 45-year-old Rebecca Hefner of Searcy was on West Lincoln on Thursday morning when she was struck from behind by an SUV driven by 30-year-old Vaniesha Evans, also of Searcy.
The Daily Citizen reports the impact threw Hefner from her wheelchair. Hefner was pronounced dead at a hospital.
No charges were filed, though police are still investigating the accident.
