Stacy Tilson is facing a second degree murder charge in the death of James Moore.
HOT SPRINGS, Ark. (KTHV) - A woman has been arrested for second degree murder of a Hot Springs man.
According to police, on Sunday, Sept. 30, officers responded to a home on South Patterson in reference to an "intoxicated subject," and when they arrived they found 22-year-old James Moore lying in the grass on the corner of Plain and Centerview streets. Police say he was taken to Mercy Hospital with extensive head injuries, and died two days later.
Now, suspect Stacy Tilson, 24, is facing a second degree murder charge in the death of Moore. She was arrested Wednesday, Oct. 3.
Police say Tilson voluntarily agreed to give a statement into the investigation on Sunday. She told police that Moore broke a window at the home on South Patterson, causing glass to cut her sister's lip. She told officers that Moore left on foot after breaking the window, and she left the scene in a vehicle thereafter.
Police say Tilson admitted to seeing Moore walking while she was driving, and hitting him with the vehicle she was in.
The narrative in the police report reads, "Tilson advised that as she was driving, she saw a subject walking, and accelerated, and 'boom.'" She told officers that she then went back and parked the vehicle behind the home on South Patterson.
According to the Garland County Sheriff's Department inmate roster, Tilson has a court date on November 6.
The relationship between Tilson and Moore is unclear at this time.
