BRYANT, Ark. (Oct. 6, 2012) - The 25th Annual Fall Fest is today, Oct. 6, at Bishop Park, 6401 Boone Road, in Bryant.

The day will be packed with events, activities and contests for the entire family, most of it on the Everett Buick GMC stage at the first ball field complex. Admission and parking is free.

Beginning at 7 a.m., visitors can enjoy the pancake breakfast put on by the Senior Adult Center. At 8 a.m. the Rock City Cruisers Car Show registration opens. Then at 8:30-9 a.m. the Arvest Bank Parade line up begins on Woodland Park Road. Parade begins at 10 a.m.

"We highly recommend you get to the park before 10. The parade will block traffic for some time," noted Karen Grice of Heartland Bank, this year's chairperson. The parade will wind from Woodland Park Road down Boone Road into the park and all the way to the back of the park.

KidzLand opens at 10 a.m. with a train ride, bounce houses, slide, Mini Dreams ponies, Ironman Obstacle course, face painting, balloon animals, learning stations by local daycares, and the Home Depot Kids Building Workshop.  Armbands at $15 cover the blow ups ad train all day. Some other activities are free. Some of the other activities have set separate ticket prices.  Kidzland is made possible by Brooke Andrews State Farm, U.S. Bank, Alcoa Community Federal Credit Union, Summit Bank, Wisdom Tree Learning Academy, Union Station Child Care, Re-elect Tim Griffin and Farmers & Merchants Bank.

Food Court opens at 10 a.m with nachos, cheeseburgers, corn dogs, cotton candy, polish sausage, deep fried Oreos, funnel cakes, kettle corn, pork rinds, apple pies, eggrolls, pizza, bratwurst, candy apples, shaved ice, ice cream, sodas and lemonade. Hospitality tent is set up by the Army National Guard.

Vendors are bringing painted wood pieces, lanterns from wine bottles, candles, clothing, jeans, t-shirts, jewelry, pottery, accessories, handbags, and other crafts.

At 10 a.m., and all day on every hour, the Heartland Bank Treasures in the Sand event for our 25th anniversary will give two winners a chance to dig for prizes. At the end of the day the grand prize winner will receive an Apple iPad 3. You must be present to win.

When the parade enters the park, stage activities begin with the spirit groups from the Bryant and Bethel schools performing.

At 11 the second annual Ken Palmquist Duct Tape Boat Race by Landers of Saline County hits the water at the front pond. These watercraft of every imagining will stay afloat only on the power of duct tape, PVC pipe and their inventor's ingenuity.

Also at 11 the Health Expo will begin on the second floor of Bishop Center. Health information and screenings are offered.

Noon is the volleyball challenge between Fire and Police and other teams benefiting the Red Cross and the beginning of the Hamilton Family Dentistry Kids Fishing Derby. If fisher people under 16 catch the tagged fish (there are two) between noon and 2 p.m. they win $100!

Also at noon singer Savannah Rye takes the stage. She is followed by the Political Cake Auction. Winners get to stump from the stage for as long as they can hold their hand in a bucket of ice water. At 1:30 p.m. Elite Dance will perform followed by Oksana Pavilionis on violin.

Now the contests for kids begin. At 2:30 p.m. is the First Electric Cooperative Corp. baby crawl contest. They must be under one year. Parents may encourage and entice with a favorite toy, but cannot touch.  At 3 p.m. is the Zhu and Kung Zhu race. Kids bring these battery operated hamsters to race. If they fall over or stop they are out. The last one standing wins. The Hula Hoop contest brings kids and an occasional adult up to the stage to show their mastery of this simple hoop.

All day people will be bringing and blinging pumpkins in the Saline County Art Project area. The final judging will be done just before 4 p.m.  The Art Project of Saline County  area will encompass other art related fun as well.

The Guns and Hoses Kickball tournament is at 4. And Karaoke takes over the Everett Buick GMC stage at that time.

Then the Headliner Band, introduced by sponsor Geyer Springs Baptist Church, will take the main stage at 5:30 p.m.

Immediately following the band at dark are fireworks by the City of Bryant.
