HOT SPRINGS, Ark. (AP) - Magic Springs amusement park in Hot Springs has announced a multi-million dollar expansion to its water park after the current season is over.
The park said Friday that the expansion will be the fourth major construction project since the theme park and water park opened in 2008.
Officials also announced the park is to retire its X-Coaster at the end of the 2012 season, due to its waning popularity. The park has two other roller coasters.
The Sentinel-Record reports that Magic Springs didn't release monetary details or describe the planned addition's features.
Park marketing manager Dana Whisenhunt says the addition will be a "very large feature in the water park" and that it will be family focused.
