GRESHAM, Ore. (CNN/KGW) -- Oregon authorities are searching for a woman who vanished Tuesday in the town of Gresham, near Portland. The 21-year-old never made it to work. There are still many more questions than answers in this disturbing case.

Inside a Gresham Starbucks along northeast Burnside you'll find Whitney Heichels photo as a missing poster.

The barista never showed up to work Wednesday morning. A manager called her husband at home. Her husband Clint Heichel says, "I just started calling her and she didn't answer her phone. I texted her about a million times and no answer."

Before her husband reported her missing, police say Heichels' vehicle was seen at the same time her ATM card was used at a Gresham gas station. Was Heichel driving? Was she alone? These are unanswered questions.

What happened next adds to the mystery. Friends found her suv at a wood village walmart. Heichel says, "The window was busted out, and the back seats were down and there was mud on the tires."

Police and friends spent much of the day spreading the word, handing out fliers. Of course, with each passing hour more worry. Heichel says, "It's highly irregular for her to just disappear like that without any communication. we just hope and pray somebody saw something and that we'll hear from them soon."
