LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - Back Yard Burgers announced this week that it's closing more than half of its fast food restaurants in Arkansas.
All eight of the corporate-owned stores closed this week on short notice, leaving only six franchises left in the state. Every Back Yard Burgers in the Little Rock area closed - including restaurants on N. Shackleford Road, Cantrell Road, both locations on W. Markham St., and Broadway St.
Corporate officials say the closings were simply based on a lack of sales.
Lance Turner with Arkansas Business said this is a big trend among current companies, in order to take a close look at their operations and see how they can do better business.
