LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) -- November of next year the downtown district of Little Rock will have a new and improved Arcade Building.

Groundbreaking ceremony took place Monday at 11am and they are officially under construction on the corner of River market and Clinton Avenues.

The Arkansas Library system has a spot on 2nd floor and an insurance agency plans to be on the 3rd floor.

It's named after an original "arcade building" that started in construction almost exactly 100 years ago. The original building was then demolished in the 60s.

Developer Jimmy Moses is thrilled about the new theatre moving in, too. He says, "it furthers the mission of the Little Rock Film Festival and their institute which we're very excited about."

The Little Rock Film Festival plans to show movies year-round instead of just first week of June.

A top notch French & Italian inspired restaurant Cache is another main attraction.

150 parking spaces will be lost but they're being replenished by Arkansas Library with a new parking deck nearby.

Construction should not interfere with trolley system and supplies will aim to be delivered in non-peak hours of traffic.
