LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) -In a THV Extra, our Craig O'Neill sits down with political experts for a full understanding on what number could make history in Arkansas government.

The Republicans need to pick up six seats in the House and three in the Senate to make it happen. They're confident they can get it done. But the question is, "What then?"

According to Republican state senator Jason Rapert of Conway, they would hold true to their conservative values. All taxes would come under scrutiny, all new expenditures would be fought, and current unpaid entitlements would be challenged.

And, they would cut capital gains taxes in hopes of fostering new business. As for "Obamacare," and Medicaid Expansion, they would try to block those plans which they feel are irresponsible.

In the Republican Legislature, to promise a program unpaid for or underfunded, is cruel.

When reminded that Medicaid Expansion is paid for by the Federal government, 100 percent for the first three years, Rapert quickly notes.

It's a hollow promise because the government is 17 billion in debt.

Finally, there is the feeling that the Republicans could work with Gov. Beebe. The GOP points out the success Gov. Huckabee had with the democratically controlled legislature all those years.

No matter what happens, it promises to be a colorful election night in Arkansas, a color Republicans hope is red.
