AUCKLAND, New Zealand (CBS) -- Air New Zealand has revamped its on-board safety video with a Hobbit theme as the country prepares for the world premier of Peter Jackson's latest film, the first in a trilogy about J.R.R. Tolkein's fantasy adventure.
The video is designed to be played to passengers on board Air New Zealand flights before take-off and includes all the normal information such as fastening and unfastening a seatbelt and fitting a lifejacket - but in this case the 'passengers' are all dwarves, wizards and hobbits from the realm of Middle Earth.
The video features members of the cast, including Peter Jackson himself and even two great grandsons of J.R.R Tolkien, one wearing prosthetic hairy Hobbit feet.
Air New Zealand is expected to reveal a Hobbit themed aircraft prior to the movie's global premiere in Wellington on November 28.
The three films tell a continuous story set in Middle-earth 60 years before Jackson's Oscar winning "The Lord of the Rings" trilogy.
