HOT SPRINGS, Ark. (AP) - A woman who faced a batch of charges for allegedly running a puppy mill in Garland County was convicted on six misdemeanor counts after a jury trial.

Authorities charged Pamela L. Thomas with six felonies and 12 misdemeanor animal cruelty counts but a jury on Friday found her not guilty of half the misdemeanors and convicted her on the other half. A day earlier, the judge dismissed the felony counts.

Thomas ran the Happy Times Kennel, which was shut down by authorities last year. Thomas was arrested.

The Sentinel-Record reports (http://is.gd/Ap98cU ) the 12 counts covered 121 of the 179 dogs recovered from the kennel.

The trial lasted four days.
