U.S. Senator John Boozman (R-AR) honored the selfless sacrifices of our nation's veterans, including the 257,000 veterans who call Arkansas home, in advance of Veterans Day.
"On Veterans Day we reflect on the sacrifices of the men and the women who put their lives on the line for liberty. These men and women and their families are selfless Americans who deserve our thanks and appreciation for their tireless efforts to protect our country," Boozman said in a video message.
As a member of the Senate Veterans' Affairs Committee, Boozman is uniquely situated to help usher through legislation and implement policies that help our nation's veterans. Improving health care and access, expanding educational opportunities, and providing opportunities for long-term meaningful employment for our nation's veterans are priorities for the senator as Congress continues its commitment to the men and women who wear our nation's uniform.
"This Congress we have made great strides to provide our veterans with the resources they deserve. With nearly one million American veterans unemployed we have an obligation to provide these servicemembers with job opportunities. That's why I introduced legislation to provide veterans with additional opportunities to find employment. In addition I supported veterans' job legislation that passed the Senate," Boozman said.
