KATY, TX (CNN/KHOU) -- A soldier's family gets closure more than four decades after his death.
This dog tag was worn by Captain Walter Burke. His plane was shot down in Vietnam more than forty years ago.
It wasn't until Saturday, though, that his recovered tags were presented to his wife and children at a Veterans of Foreign Wars port in Katy, Texas.
Burke's daughter Lauren Branch says, "We had such a long period of time where we kind of tucked it away, and this happened really fast, so it's been kind of overwhelming, and I don't think we've really had a chance to process."
Burke's dog tags were actually discovered by a search team in 1995.
His family didn't find out until recently, because of bureaucratic missteps.
