COLLEGE STATION, TX (CNN) -- This weekend, students at Texas A&M memorialized the Aggies who were killed and injured in a bonfire accident 13 years ago.
A 60-foot bonfire collapsed in 1999, killing 12 students and injuring 27 others.
Sunday marked the 13th anniversary of that accident. On campus, where bonfires are now banned, students gathered at the Aggie Bonfire Memorial for a candlelight vigil, early Sunday morning.
They also placed fresh roses and candles at the site.
