EUREKA SPRINGS, Ark. (AP) - A new high school is slated to open in Eureka Springs in January.
The new high school will replace the current one, which has been in use since 1950.
The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette reports (http://bit.ly/QC9a4x ) that the new high school is scheduled to open Jan. 3. That's the first day students come back from winter vacation.
Superintendent Curtis Turner says the school district will hold "a full-blown open house" either later in January or in early February.
The Democrat-Gazette says the new Eureka Springs High School was financed by a successful millage vote nearly three years ago. Work began on the site in June 2011.
