HEBER SPRINGS, Ark. (KTHV) - The smell of Christmas is in the air ... literally.  Aromatique in Heber Springs ships its seasonal smell-goods across the country, especially on Cyber Monday.

"Several hundred cases [go] everywhere Canada, Virgin Islands, all across the United States," says Judy Balderree, Vice President of Retail Sales. Balderree says online business booms this time of year.

"Every year it keeps building and I just think there are more Americans that are shopping online and taking advantage of those extra sales, so we're seeing an increase every year," says Balderree.

The company saw about 10 percent more sales this year. The operation begins with printing out their online orders, which head down the assembly line to be processed and packed then eventually it goes to mail carriers.

Aromatique nearly doubles its staff during the holiday season and a large portion of that business comes from the web.

"We have several items that are 25 percent off and free shipping on a $50 order (for cyber Monday)," says Balderree.

Once orders are processed, the packages go to Lynn Rice, who prepares them for shipment.

"We have this scale right here that weighs them for us. Then we put them in the shipping computer and UPS comes around three this afternoon," says Rice.

Balderree estimates they process around 500 orders through their cyber weekend, which helps many families start their Christmas season.

"It's a holiday tradition for so many people and they're passing that tradition on to their children and it makes your home smell wonderful and makes it feel like Christmas," says Balderree.

Balderree tells THV 11, the farthest shipment this season is to Canada and the company has already shipped to Washington State and New York.
