SHERWOOD, Ark. (KTHV) - The Sherwood City Council voted Monday on which company will provide electricity for a large portion of the city.

Council members voted 5 - 3 at the meeting to continue using North Little Rock Electric.

The city has been negotiating with three companies over the past couple of months to reach a deal.
North Little Rock city attorney Jason Carter says members are pleased with the decision.

"It means maintaining a relationship we've had for sixty years. North Little Rock has served electricity to this sector since before Sherwood existed. We're just as much emotionally attached to this area as we are physically," said Carter.

North Little Rock Electric, Entergy and First Electric have competing to provide the electricity.
