LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - The Holiday Spirit is alive and well, aboard the Snowball Express, and anyone who has anything to do with this special adventure can't help but be touched by the spirit of the season.
Children and spouses of US service members who have died on active duty since Sept. 11, 2001 were treated to a very special trip on the express Friday with an all expenses paid flight to Dallas/Fort Worth for fun and treats.
To begin the day, the families enjoyed a light breakfast and a special program presented by Mayor Mark Stodola, State Representative Darrin Williams and State Senator Linda Chesterfield.
This is the seventh annual journey for the Snowball Express, which is an all-volunteer nonprofit organization.
American Airlines, American Eagle and Snowball Express will fly nearly 1,700 children and spouses of fallen military heroes to Dallas/Fort Worth from Nov. 30 to Dec. 4.
The families flew out from the Bill and Hilary Clinton National Airport.
