HOT SPRINGS, Ark. (AP) - Arkansas Republicans are gathering to elect party officers after the GOP won control of the Legislature and swept all four of the state's congressional seats.
The Republican Party plans to meet in Hot Springs on Saturday for its winter state committee meeting. Nearly 300 committee members and guests are expected to gather for the meeting at the Arlington Hotel.
Chairman Doyle Webb is running unopposed for re-election. Webb was first elected state GOP chairman in 2008.
The meeting comes on the heels of the November election in which Republicans won a majority in the state House and Senate for the first time since Reconstruction.
