EL DORADO, Ark. (AP) - A southern Arkansas man arrested in the shooting death of a 25-year-old El Dorado man is due in court on a murder charge.
The El Dorado News-Times reports that 47-year-old Joe Perry is expected to make his first court appearance Monday in Union County District Court.
Perry, of El Dorado, is being held in the Union County Jail on a first-degree murder charge in the shooting death of Jeremy Thompson. Online jail records don't list an attorney for Perry.
El Dorado police say they were called to Thompson's home about a disturbance on Friday night. When officers arrived, they found Thompson, who appeared to have been shot. Authorities took him to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Authorities say Perry was taken into custody at the scene.
