BELLAFONTE, Ark -- A store clerk was shot and the shooter was on the loose on Saturday night. The Boone County Sheriff's Department says it happened around 5:30 p.m. Saturday at a store on north U.S. 65 just outside Bellafonte.
The sheriff said the clerk was shot once in the head. The clerk was airlifted to a hospital in Springfield with life threatening injuries.
27-year-old Phillip Ray Engles is being sought in the case.
