MENA, Ark. - Michael P. Lawrence of Mena, was allegedly running from the police late Saturday, December 1, and lost control of the wheel causing him to hit a tree. Lawrence was pronounced dead at a Hot Springs Hospital.
According to the Arkansas State Police report, the truck failed to negotiate a curve. Danielle R. Smith of Hatfield was a passenger with Lawrence and was injured in the accident.
