LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) -- American consumers will spend billions of dollars shopping online this holiday season, avoiding the crowded department stores to search for deals from retailers on the Internet.
We have online shopping safety tips this morning, plus find out if you're eligible to claim money from purchases of LCD screens before the deadline.
Sarah Tacker with the Attorney General's Office joins Alyse Eady to talk more.
Tips to shopping safely
1. Always conduct business transactions on a secure website.
2. Pay for items by credit card.
4. Always review monthly credit card and bank statements for any errors or unauthorized purchases.
And if you bought an LCD screen TV, monitor, or laptop may be eligible to claim money in a class-action law suit.
Eligible consumers and businesses in 24 states and the District of Columbia may be able to collect $25, $100, $200 or more by answering a few simple questions about the LCD flat screen TVs, monitors, and laptops they bought from 1999 to 2006.
No receipts or other documents are required for small claims. The deadline to file a claim is December 6, 2012.
