Bobby L. Robinson, wanted in W. Mem. Carlos Mitchell murder case, arrested

WEST MEMPHIS, Ark. (KTHV) - A man wanted for the sixth homicide of 2012 in West Memphis is now in police custody.

According Capt. Ken Mitchell, CID Commander, Bobby L. Robinson, 27, of West Memphis was arrested by officers for the murder of Carlos Mitchell, 29.

Robinson was found sitting in a red Ford Explorer on Kenosha Road in Memphis, Tenn, said police.

Police told THV 11 News that Mitchell was found with a gunshot wound just after 1:30 a.m. Tuesday when officers got a call of shots fired at the 200 block of N. 26th Street. He was taken to Crittenden Regional Hospital where he later died of his injuries.

Police worked through the morning interviewing witnesses and gathering evidence at the scene. They learned the shooting suspect had fled the scene before officers arrived. Police later identified the suspect as Robinson.

Robinson will be held as a fugitive from justice pending extradition back to the state of Arkansas where West Memphis Police have issued a warrant against Robinson for 1st Degree Murder.
