LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - At a press conference Wednesday, Governor Mike Beebe commented on the recent coaching shuffles in Arkansas.

Beebe said he was surprised at the University of Arkansas' pick of Bret Bielema, but he thinks it will be a good pick. He says, "I'm sure this guy's got a good track record, I'm sure he's a very good, competent coach, and I'm sure Wisconsin hated to lose him."

But when it comes to Gus Malzahn leaving Arkansas State University, Beebe says he's disappointed. But he's confident that ASU will be fine. He says, "It's obviously a place that people want to go. I don't know any other school in the country that's had two SEC head coaches hired in two years so it's obviously a desirable job, a desirable place to go."

He says it's hard to compete with schools like Ole Miss and Auburn when it comes to money, but it's a good program and they'll end up with a good choice.
