OLYMPIA, Wash. (AP) - It's a first of its kind wedding day in Washington state.
Same-sex couples started taking their vows just after midnight under the state's new law allowing gay marriage. The law took effect Thursday, but the state has a three-day waiting period for couples after they acquire a marriage license.
Last month, Washington, Maine and Maryland became the first states to pass same-sex marriage by popular vote.
