LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - Little Rock mayor and city leaders are hoping some new plans and construction can bring more people to Main Street.

On Wednesday afternoon, 100 people met at The Rep while developers presented a creative corridor. It's a plan set to bring the arts to Main Street and in the mean time, increase traffic for business owners.

The plan is big, but developer Stephen Luoni said it can be implemented in steps.

"It's not a vision that one has to invest in all at once, so if you want to invest in the 400 and 500 blocks first you have road work that can happen. If you want to work in the extreme development that can happen, too," he explained.

As far as dollar signs go, grants funded the designs. Mayor Stodola said they plan to use grants to fund any new developments.

The price tag for the road work could be a few million dollars; again this is just a proposal.

Business owners still have control as far as how they develop their property.

The plan could take nearly a decade to complete, but the Mayor hopes Little Rock sees some new development this time next year.
