LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - THV 11 News is sending a little brighter news your way. Wednesday a premature baby boy was able to go home.

Last month, THV 11 featured Dennie Joe "D.J." Lynch and his parents, Daniel and Haley, during a report on pre-mature births in Arkansas. They didn't expect their little bundle of joy to arrive until January, but he came early on Sept.18.

The family has spent the last 12 weeks at Arkansas Children's Hospital getting little Dennie healthy, and Mom and Dad said they were glad to finally take their baby boy home.

"It feels good to be finally kind of like a normal parent going home and being in your own house and not running to Little Rock every day," the couple said. "It's a 45 minute drive for us. Making it back and forth to work is just hard. To finally be able to come home is good."

Mom and Dad said they're thankful for the workers at Children's Hospital.

When baby D.J. was born, he weighed just 1 pound, 9 ounces. Today he weighs 4 pounds, 11 ounces.
