NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - Every year on a specified Saturday in December, coordinated wreath laying ceremonies are held at Arlington National Cemetery and other locations in all 50 states and beyond.
This event is organized by Wreaths Across America, a nonprofit organization founded to continue and expand the annual wreath laying ceremony at Arlington.
And today, December 15, the Patriot Guard Riders will be placing holiday wreaths at the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in North Little Rock, located at 1501 West Maryland.
Ride Captain Walter Prouty with the Patriot Guard says this is a way to remember those who have fought for our freedoms.
"It's about honoring veterans, which is what Patriot Guard Riders are about" says Prouty. "It's also about teaching our kids about the freedoms that we enjoy."
The wreath laying ceremony will begin promptly at 11 a.m.
