LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - Arkansas' six electors have formally cast their ballots for Republican Mitt Romney.
Arkansas' six delegates to the Electoral College unanimously backed the Republican presidential and vice presidential nominees, who easily won the state but lost the election to President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden. The meeting of the electors took roughly 30 minutes Monday morning.
Romney won about 61 percent of the vote in Arkansas as Obama won re-election by garnering 332 of the 538 electoral votes nationwide.
Arkansas' electors are state Republican Party Chairman Doyle Webb, state Rep. Jonathan Barnett of Siloam Springs, Reta Hamilton of Bella Vista, Larry Bailey of Hot Springs, Robin Lundstrum of Elm Springs and Benny Speaks of Mountain Home.
