JACKSONVILLE, Ark. (KTHV) - A variety of locations are accepting teddy bears to send to the children of Sandy Hook Elementary School.

The Jacksonville Police Department said its station, along with other businesses, will accept new stuffed animals through Thursday to send to children in Connecticut. These toys are meant to send comfort to the community that is suffering from last Friday's mass school shooting, which left 26 people and the gunman dead.

"Project Teddy Bear Love" is partnering with Jonesboro, which started this program in the state. It will send new teddy bears to give children and their families "something to hold onto when everything else seems lost."

The locations accepting teddy bears are:
Cabot Administrative Offices
- 101 North 2nd Street in Cabot
Jacksonville Police Dept. - 1412 West Main Street in Jacksonville
Huff 'n Puff Dance and Gymnastics - 613 North 1st St. in Jacksonville
JAX Gymnastics - 4101 Richards Road in North Little Rock

The final pickup for the teddy bears is 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 20.
