LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) -- The holiday season can fight against the body's natural desire to relax and hibernate.
But instead of putting on another pot of coffee, or worse, a sugary soda or energy drink try one of these quick techniques to boost your energy level naturally from Yahoo! Shine.
1. Break for it - Sometimes all you need is a break. You don't have to go for a lengthy walk, but try walking around your building for a moment. Or try closing your eyes to get a break from the screen.
2. Tap your thymus - Literally, tap your thymus. Nutrition coach Marian Buck-Murray recommends taking 20 seconds to tap on you thymus with your fingertips. The thymus is located at the center-top of your chest below the collar bone. Tapping the thymus triggers the production of T-cells, boosts energy, relieves stress, and increases strength and vitality.
3. Stretch it out - Sitting for long periods of time can make you feel sluggish. Try a few yoga positions at your desk to give you a quick energy fix.
4. Try some peppermint - Certain scents like peppermint can lift your energy levels and your spirit. What goes better with winter than peppermint? The menthol scent opens up your sinus passages, giving you a sense of relief.
