Vilonia Ark. (KTHV) Authorities out of Faulkner County investigating a possible case of animal cruelty.
Deputies were called to a residence just outside Vilonia. There were five horses on the property and two were found on the ground when authorities arrived.
A veterinarian was called and says they all suffered from malnutrition.
The doctor put two of the horses down.
The other three horses were transported to a property in Mayflower. Authorities say the person who leases the property has only lived there a short time and does not own the horses.
The investigation has now been turned over to the Faulkner County Prosecutor.
