First Electric Cooperative has reduced the number of members without power from 30,000 following the Dec. 25 winter storms to 5,000 as of 9 p.m. Friday.
The cooperative remains optimistic that it can restore power to all members in the Jacksonville and Perryville districts by morning. We expect members in the Benton district to be restored by Sunday.
Crews continue to work in the Benton, Jacksonville and Perryville districts. Employees and contractors will continue to work until power is restored.
Members may report an outage by calling 888-827-3322 or the cooperative's main line at 800-489-7405. More information will be provided at www.firstelectric.coop and at www.facebook.com/FirstElectric as the restoration continues.
