LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) -- One person is killed every half-hour due to drunk driving. And with it being New Year's Eve, many people will be at parties tonight.

Of all traffic deaths this year, 34 percent of them are alcohol related. And 190 lives lost last year were due to alcohol-related crashes.

Police across Arkansas will be stepping up patrols. Sgt. Brian Dedrick with the North Little Rock Police Department stops by THV 11 News to talk about the various DUI patrols taking place all over the state.
