CLARKRIDGE, Ark. (AP) - The Baxter County Sheriff's Office says a body has been recovered from a car found submerged in Lake Norfork and the vehicle is registered to a person who has been missing since October.
Officials say a caller reported seeing a vehicle under the water near the Calamity Beach boat launch near Clarkridge at about 11:30 a.m. Saturday.
A sheriff's diver checked the vehicle and found the body.
Sheriff's officials say the missing person is from outside Baxter County but did not release the name. The body was sent to the state Medical Examiner's Office in Little Rock for identification and to determine a cause of death.
Officials are investigating.
