LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) -- Another day of service took place in honor of Doctor Martin Luther King, Jr., at the Veteran's Cemetery in North Little Rock.
Volunteers from several chapters of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority picked up limbs and worked on the mulch around the trees. They said it's all about carrying on Dr. King's legacy of service, and who better to honor than our veterans gone?
"We got a big group out here, and the more the merrier to make the grounds beautiful in order to show our respect for those who have committed their lives to serving our country," said Tjuana Byrd, president of the Beta Pi Omega chapter.
This wasn't just a one-day event. These folks held an entire weekend of service starting Saturday with a health expo then another event on Sunday to help veterans with financial advice.
