GOLDEN VALLEY, MN (CNN/KARE) -- The bitterly cold weather in Minnesota turned an anchor and meteorologist in Minneapolis into scientists.
Demonstrating just how cold it was in KARE's backyard, they tossed a cup of hot water into the air.
Instead of getting wet, their experiment yielded what looked like something between steam and ice.
Minnesotans braced for wind chills in the 25 to 45 degree below zero range today (Monday).
The arctic plunge is expected to last until Wednesday when temperatures are supposed to crawl back into the teens.
